RedVac products are made 850 meters above sea level in the middle of the Austrian Alps by the experienced and meticulously working Kohlbrat & Bunz staff. People living in the Alps know all too well that products used under the extreme conditions of alpine rescue work have to work perfectly. To meet these rigorous demands RedVac products are developed in close cooperation with the mountain rescue teams. Outstanding quality and construction combined with selection of the best materials enables the RedVac products to perform flawlessly under the most extreme and demanding circumstances.

To be able to meet the high standards of the alpine rescuers many innovative solutions were invented:

The Multi-Chamber-System

The Multi-Chamber-System keeps the internal polystyrene beads in their correct positions and eliminates the need for difficult and time consuming manual spreading of the beads.

This enables fast, safe and easy application in all situations, simple handling and lowest possible weight and size for easy transportation and storage.

The exterior material

To achieve outstanding durability, abrasion resistance, tightness, easy clean up and comfort for the patient a special polyurethane material was chosen. It makes it possible to use the RedVac products in a wide temperature range, from +80?C down to -40?C. The material made it possible to design a unique attachment system for straps and handles. It keeps the bottom side free of straps which otherwise could get tangled up and get stuck in obstacles.

This unique system allows the user to freely position straps and handles as needed. It makes them easily removable for cleaning or replacement and eliminates areas that could trap fluids.

The vacuum valve

The valve is easy to use, even when wearing gloves. It closes automatically when suction stops preventing loss of vacuum if slipping with the pump.

A new first in the world, a vacuum immobilisation system for the back board

The difficulty to immobilise patients on a back board and the pain especially during longer transports are now history. Unlike the familiar head blocs Red Vacs vacuum head immobiliser contours automatically to the patients head without exerting pressure.  The body vacuum supports contours to the body and the system keeps the patient perfectly immobilised, warm and comfortable.   

The immobilisation of the head is without external pressure and is gentle and comfortable for the patient and the handling is easy and fast for the rescuer. 

The ears remain free for unrestricted hearing and inspection.

Flaps for optimal shoulder and body immobilisation.

Free passage in the neck area permits the unrestricted use of the trolleys safety belts.
